The more people gave online in advance, the less lengthy the pledge drive on air. I'm not sure if the average gift amount went up, or if the participation rate increased, but they met their goal in half the time it would have usually taken!Gail Krumenauerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01758653571971715603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3471471289744825428.post-25880046790661615722010-05-13T09:08:06.071-07:002010-05-13T09:08:06.071-07:00I think I'm going to give money the next pledg...I think I'm going to give money the next pledge drive, and I definitely want a prize with an obnoxiously loud OPB logo. It'll give me an edge over my frienemy who's all smug now because he's joining the Peace Corps.Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16930244720033378546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3471471289744825428.post-5092717494013084242010-05-12T11:19:00.343-07:002010-05-12T11:19:00.343-07:00Well, there is the value to OPB of our logo being ...Well, there is the value to OPB of our logo being out and about... not a bad return for the costs of a tree and grocery bags.

Thanks for sticking with us through the end.

JPBS Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772448938869078285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3471471289744825428.post-46135521336904296982010-05-12T10:55:35.782-07:002010-05-12T10:55:35.782-07:00John,

Don't really know why I did the go green, felt compelled not to leave gifties on the table and i do use the bags but not terribly rational - I admit.

Congrats on ending the drive and I promise to send in my (overdue) payment!Patrick Emersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17242234148546323374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3471471289744825428.post-35393088731842651322010-05-12T10:51:33.921-07:002010-05-12T10:51:33.921-07:00Thank goodness, indeed! We find, for the radio audience, that station logo items do much better than random, although cool, things. Amazingly, the "go green" pack that is basically a tree planted by SOLV is hugely popular, even though the donor doesn't get anything beyond a couple of grocery bags. I think the warm-fuzzy feeling is the real benefit there.

Thanks for sending in your renewal!

John Bell, OPBPBS Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772448938869078285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3471471289744825428.post-43864757095533390802010-05-12T10:02:34.391-07:002010-05-12T10:02:34.391-07:00Wow - I'm shocked that the giving rate is only...Wow - I'm shocked that the giving rate is only 10%! I give every year. But I, too, HATE the pledge drive.jessibeaucouphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12654962877354651499noreply@blogger.com
