Why is Diego Maradona considered one of the best ever (no not the best - sorry all of my Argentinean classmates)? Here is perhaps his most famous goal (not his most infamous - the hand of god which occurred earlier in the match):
I had the rare pleasure to be watching (on TV, but still) the hand of god goal. I was transfixed by Maradona. Such an unlikely-looking soccer player, a man who seemed to defy physics. Who's that mechanic running around out there, I thought the first time I saw him.
