Calvin and Hobbes on Government Subsidies

This is a cartoon I had on my office door for years. I clipped it when it was first published and I used to include it on the last (and otherwise blank) page of my Intermediate Microeconomics syllabus just for amusement's sake. Recently it has been rediscovered by the blog-o-sphere because of its new found relevance. So I offer it here the day after the US automakers came looking for $14 billion in new government aid.

We need blogger stimulus! Who would keep writing incisive, professional analysis if they didn't get paid? Oh, right.
